Your making lives in your own account. Projects, patterns, photos and notes are stored securely in the app's cloud database so they are safe if your phone is lost, and they sync back when you sign in again. Only you can see them. There are no ads and no analytics, and we never sell or share your data with anyone. The AI features read only what you choose to give them, and one switch in Settings turns them off entirely.
You sign in with an email address and password, or with your Google or Apple account. We hold the email address and the display name you choose, and nothing else about you. The app never sees your passwords for Google or Apple, and your email address is used only to sign you in and recover your account, never for marketing.
Your projects, steps, notes, counters, timers, supplies, budgets, measurements, shopping lists, patterns, photos and files are stored in your account in Google's Firebase, the database service the app is built on. They are protected by security rules so that only your signed-in account can read or change them. The app also keeps a copy on your device so everything works offline; changes sync up the next time you are online.
The pattern reader and the project summaries use AI. When you import a pattern, that photo or PDF is sent securely to the AI service to be turned into steps, and the result comes straight back to you: it is not used to train anything and is not kept by us beyond doing that job. Summaries and reminders are put together only from your own project notes and numbers. Nothing is ever sent unless you choose to use one of these features, and the AI switch in Settings turns them all off.
The Makers Toolbox is free while it is in testing. When paid plans arrive, purchases will be processed entirely by Apple: payment details never reach us.
Delete account in the app removes your account and everything in it, projects, patterns, photos, files and settings alike, from our database for good. It cannot be undone, which is why the app asks you to be very sure first. You can also email [email protected] and we will delete it for you.
