Trade Dock Terms of Use

Last updated 9 August 2026. Trade Dock is made by Ruth McCarthy, Ireland, and these terms are governed by Irish law. You need to be 18 or over. Questions: [email protected]

What Trade Dock is

A record-keeping and job-management tool for a trade business, with a free app for that business's customers and crew. It is not accounting, tax or legal advice: the figures are only as good as what you enter, so check anything important before you rely on it.

Your account

Keep your sign-in details to yourself, and tell us if someone else gets into your account. You are responsible for what your crew do with the access you give them. We can suspend an account that is being used unlawfully or to abuse other people.

Subscriptions

Trade Dock Pro is sold as a monthly or yearly subscription through Apple, with the first month free. It renews automatically until you cancel it in your iPhone Settings at least 24 hours before the period ends. Apple's standard End User Licence Agreement applies and Apple handles refunds. Cancelling leaves your data in place; you drop back to the free limits.

Your data and your backups

Your book is copied to our cloud so it survives a lost phone, but photos are not uploaded and are only on your handset. Export from Settings regularly. We do our best to keep everything safe and we do not promise a service that never has an outage.

Handling your customers' details (for businesses)

When you put your customers into Trade Dock, you are the controller of their information and we process it for you. These clauses are the agreement required by Article 28 of the GDPR, and by using the app as a business you accept them.

We will: only handle your customers' data to provide the app to you and to follow the law; keep it confidential and only let people who need to see it do so; protect it with appropriate technical measures; help you answer any request from one of your customers and any security incident; tell you without undue delay if there is a breach; delete or return the data when you close your account, apart from anything the law makes us keep; and let you satisfy yourself that we are doing all this if you ask.

You agree we may use these sub-processors: Google (Firebase) for accounts and the database, Apple for sign-in and payments, and RevenueCat for subscription checks. We will tell you before we add another, and you can object by closing your account.

You promise that you have the right to put your customers' details into the app and that you have told them what you do with their information.

Fair use

Do not use the app for anything unlawful, do not use the customer or enquiry side to send people things they did not ask for, and do not try to break, copy or resell it.

If things go wrong

Nothing here limits liability for death, personal injury or fraud. Beyond that, and to the extent the law allows, our liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the problem. We are not liable for business losses caused by data you entered wrongly or by an outage.

Changes and ending

We may change these terms; if a change matters we will say so in the app. You can stop using Trade Dock and delete your account at any time from Settings.
